The design of this pharmacy centred around providing a highly functional dispensary, back of house and extended professional services facilities.

The existing dispensary functioned poorly and was too small for the pharmacy’s operations. The pharmacists were using portable trolleys as extra bench space and deliveries were stacked high and in the view of customers.

We worked closely with our clients to capture every detail in the brief to ensure all operational requirements were met, including:

• A combination of forward dispensing pods serving customers as well as private dispense stations within earshot of the pods

• Installation of a Rowa Vmax with 5 outputs and Prolog/Buffer Belt

• Shelving and drawers behind the dispensing pods to store scripts on file, displays and plants

• Large Webster area with abundant shelving

• Large scripts/orders pick up area which included vaccine fridge, drawers for NDIS, Webster collection, and scripts waiting baskets.

• Functional staff locker and entry area

• Space for deliveries and empty totes for collection, out of the view of customers

• 3 consulting rooms

• Freshened sales area including new gondolas with storage drawers, flooring, lighting and signage

• New extended sales counter and storageServices included, sketch design, approvals, tendering, construction documentation and signage co-ordination.

The final result has ensured that all items, down to every folder, has a place so the pharmacy can operate to its full potential. The design and customer service have exceeded the client’s expectations and we are now working with them to design their latest pharmacy refit, which includes a cafe.
